Reza Mirkarimi’s feature-length movie will be in competition at the 10th edition of the American cultural event which is Kansas City Premier Film Festival.
‘Castle of Dreams’ narrates the story of Jalal Moradi, a 42-year-old father of two and an incarcerated man. He has recently been discharged from the prison after doing his time for an accidental killing of a family. Upon his release, he leaves his wife and kids and moves to another city.
Two years later, he must go back to his home town as his wife is brain-dead. He is now about to take charge of his two kids but he is not ready simply because he cannot fulfill their dreams.
The starring role of the feature has been portrayed by popular ifilm actor of ‘The Orange Suit’, Hamed Behdad.
Besides Behdad, Mohammad Asgari, Zhila Shahi, Akbar Ayeen, Azadeh Nobahar, Mohammad Ashkanfar, Youna Tadayyon, and Alipour play roles in the movie.
The film has already attended a number of global events, including the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia, the Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq and the International Film Award “East-West. Golden Arch” in Russia.
According to the official website of the fest, “The Mission of the Universal Film Festival is to create and provide a credible and accessible venue for aspiring and talented filmmakers”.
Over the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s edition of the event will hold online on August 22-24, 2020.
